🌙 Lingashtakam Lyrics– A Sacred Offering for Maha Shivaratri - Easy to follow
Maha Shivaratri (Sunday, 15 February 2026) is the most auspicious night dedicated to Lord Shiva, the embodiment of compassion, renunciation, and supreme consciousness. On this night, devotees stay awake, chant His names, perform abhishekam, and immerse themselves in prayer and meditation. Among the many sacred hymns sung in praise of Lord Shiva, Lingashtakam holds a very special place.
Lingashtakam is a beautiful Sanskrit stotram consisting of eight verses, each glorifying the Shiva Linga—the symbol of the formless, infinite, and eternal reality. Every verse ends with the powerful refrain:
“Thath Pranamaami Sadhaashiva Lingam”
“I bow again and again to that eternal Sadhaashiva Linga.”
Chanting Lingashtakam on Maha Shivaratri is believed to purify the mind, remove negative karmas, and draw us closer to Shiva’s grace. It is simple, profound, and perfect for both beginners and seasoned devotees.
